Name: George J. Barber Date: May 28th, 1921 - April 14th, 2009 Obituary: George J. Barber of Westampton passed away Wednesday, April 14th at Virtua Inpatient Hospice in Mt. Holly. He was 87. Born in Eastampton, he was a lifelong Burlington County resident where he was very active in the Banking Industry. George was Past President and CEO of the Farmers & Mechanics Bank of Burlington, Former Member of the Board of the Directors of Federal Home Loan Bank, Past President of the NJ Banking League, Member of the Burlington Country Club, and member of B.P.O.E #848 Mt. Holly. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita of over 54 years; a son, Doug Barber of Edgewater Park; a sister, Beatrice Prickett of Titusville, FL; and two nephews, Chris and Jeffrey. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 am at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 145 West Broad St., Burlington. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St. Mt. Holly.
