Judy K. Brown departed this world on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro. She was 74.
She was born in Hachioji, Japan on January 15, 1935 to Harue and Yooju Arai. She was one of three children. She spent her youth in Tokyo, Japan and met and married Army service member, Paul (Leo) Brown in 1963. She traveled with him to many US military installations in North Carolina, Massachusetts and New Jersey. She also spent time at Camp Zama and Sagamihara military installations in Japan. She became a naturalized permanent resident of the United States in 1972. After her husband’s retirement from the US Army they often traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Judy was a loving and devoted wife to Leo and a loving and devoted mother to their daughter Cecilia. She was a member of the Japanese Christian Church in Philadelphia. Judy was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Along with many of their dear friends, she enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City to visit the casinos and food buffets; playing poker, bingo, and bowling; attending karaoke sessions and eating many different foods.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, her parents Harue and Yooju Arai, brother, Kenji Arai and sister-in-law, Miwa Arai. She is survived by her daughter Cecilia of Willingboro; brother Kento of Japan; special nephew George Michael Brown of MD; special grandson Jonathan Arsenault of Sea Isle City, NJ; grand God-daughter Ma Leka Evans of NJ; and special adopted families the White and Beard families and many other friends and family.
She was also preceded in death by her pet-children, Taka, Duke, Fuji, Koro, Taiho; and survived by her pet-children Chibi, Tama, and Umi who will truly miss her and their snack time!
