Obituary:
Theodore J. “Ted” Gaskill of Mt. Holly passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly. Born in Mt. Holly, Ted was a lifelong resident and Korean War Veteran who served on the Battleship New Jersey and worked at the PX Bank in Fort Dix. He also worked as a Lineman for Bell Telephone in Hainesport for over 29 years. Ted was very active in the Mt. Holly Fire Dept. and Emergency Squad where he had been a Past Chief and Past President of the America Hose Co.; 60 year (Life Member) of the America Emergency Squad; a Life member of both the Mt. Holly Relief Fireman’s Association and NJ Fire Chief’s Association; an Exempt Fireman of Mt. Holly; and spent several years as the Mt. Holly Twp. Fire Marshall. Husband of the late Jean Gaskill, father of the late James Gaskill; brother of the late Irving E. Gaskill and Joseph Gaskill; he is survived by a son, George Gaskill; a granddaughter, Tammi Kleszics (Ken); two nieces, Carol Kitchin (Bob), Janet Durand (Bob); a great-nephew, Dale Kitchin (Kim); two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Carter; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held 10 am, Tuesday at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Interment will follow in the Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the America Emergency Squad, PO Box 567, Mt.
