Joseph E. Copestakes of the Homestead Section of Columbus died Friday June 19th 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro. He was 93.
Mr. Copestakes was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Arthur and Alice Carter Copestakes. He served in the United States Navy from 1940 until 1946 and served in both the European and Pacific theatres and was a Chief Radioman. After his release from the Navy he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a retired employee of RCA in Moorestown, NJ and was also a former member of the Toastmasters Club.
Mr. Copestakes was predeceased by his wife Gerturde V. and his daughter Virginia Copestakes and is survived by a niece, Kathleen Pritz of Columbus.
Funeral Services will be held Friday April 26th at 12:30PM at the PERINCHIEF CHAPELS, 438 High Street, Mount Holly. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Brig. Gen. Wm. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cem., Arneytown, NJ.
