Name: Arthur Cooper Date: September 7th, 1922 - November 8th, 2009 Obituary: Arthur Cooper of Mount Holly died Sunday November 8th at Virtua Mount Holly Rehab in Lumberton. He was 87. Mr. Cooper was born in Smithville, the son of the late Charles and Iva Lippincott Cooper. During World War 2 he served as a waist gunner in the Army Air Corps with the Eighth Air Force. Mr. Cooper was a retired warehouse supervisor for US Civil Service at McGuire AFB. After his retirement he worked for NADE in Bordentown. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Holly where he served as chief usher for many, many years. He was a member of the Swiss Internees Assoc., the Eighth Air Force Historical Assn. and a member of the New Jersey Chapter of that Association and also was a member of the 447th Bomb Group Assoc. Mr. Cooper was a member of Mount Holly Lodge #14 F & AM, the Excelsior Consistory, Collingswood and Mount Holly VFW Post # 2692. Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife Betty (Moore), a daughter , Linda Powell of Westampton; two grandchildren: Stephanie Powell and her fiancé John Ronaldson of Atco, Scott Hubbard and his wife Kori of Columbus and two grandchildren: Derek and Brett Hubbard. He was the brother of the late Edna Lang. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 12:30PM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly. Interment will be in the Mount Holly Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9PM at the funeral home.
