Obituary:
John Julius Gergely, 88 out of Edgewater Park, passed away on Monday November 16th, 2009. Beloved husband of predeceased Grace M. Gergely (Jobes), was a man who was an icon and love of his family and community. Survivors of his legacy are 2 daughters, Doris (Joan) Kania, and Jacqueline Wilson(AJ), and 2 sons, George Gergely (wife Jean), and Carl Gergely (predeceased siblings mother Bonnie.) John had a significantly sized family of 20 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and even 15 Great-Great Grandchildren. Still living is his brother Robert Gergely (wife Aileen) and predeceased is his sister Norma Hulse , 2 brothers, Marion Derca, and George Gergely. John Gergely also has many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Many would call John’s life one of many accomplishments, trades, and hobbies. He was a Government Civilian worker for 33 years at Ft. Dix, Navy WW2 Veteran, Estimator, Mason, Golfer and Bowler. Besides his family, John’s biggest love was for music which he demonstrated excellent craftsmanship with harmony. He will be missed, always loved, and will remain in the hearts of many forever! A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 18th, 2 pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beverly Presbyterian Church, 121 East Warren St., Edgewater Park, NJ 08010 or the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016.
