Barfield, retired Presbyterian minister, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees. He was 79. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Barfield studied at Austin College and Princeton Seminary. He became an ordained minister in 1956. After serving churches in Texas and Oklahoma, he was pastor at several area churches including Christ Presbyterian Church in Marlton. He worshipped at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Holly. The husband of the late Carol, Mr. Barfield is survived by a son Paul Daniel Barfield and a daughter Hilary Barfield; three step-children: Joel Trilling, Daniel Trilling, and Karen Friedman; two grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Barfield Champion of Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 125 Garden St., Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Interment in the Baptist Cemetery, Mount Holly will be private.
