Name: Albert C. Ammon Date: February 21st, 1927 - June 21st, 2010 Obituary: Albert C. Ammon, of Chatsworth passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahwkin. He was 83. Born in Hackensack, NJ he was a longtime Chatsworth resident. Albert founded A. C. Ammon Concrete and later merged with A.G. Ammon Nursery that was owned by his father. He served on the Board of Directors of Cooperative Growers Assoc. of Tabernacle, served on the Steering Committee of the Farmland Preservation Demonstration Project. Mr. Ammon was very active in the local agricultural community where he was a member of the American Assoc. of Nurserymen, North American Blueberry Council, NJ Nurserymen & Landscape Assoc., International Plant Propagator’s Society, Wholesale Growers of America, NJ Agricultural Society, the NJ Farm Bureau, and the Church of Christ in Tabernacle. He was very happy with his life and had a fairytale-like marriage with his wife, Doris of over 65 wonderful years. Son of the late Albert G. and Anna Lee Ammon (nee Ernst); brother of the late Robert Lee Ammon; he was the beloved husband of Doris Allen Ammon; dear father of Albert Ammon (Nancy), Patricia Paluszak, Cheryl Rathbone, Catherine Hanson (Gary); loving grandfather of Douglas Rathbone (Nicole), Andrew Rathbone (Michelle), Laura McCarthy (George), Adam Paluszak (Christen), Erik Paluszak, Jennifer Ammon; loving brother of Shirley Ammon of NM; and cherished great-grandfather of seven. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Friday at the Church of Christ, 160 Carranza Rd., Tabernacle, NJ 08088. Interment will follow in the Chatsworth Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the church.
