Ann M. Turner

Ann M. Turner of Lumberton died on April 13, 2026. She was 94. She is survived by her three children, Edward (Marilyn), Ann (John), and Denise (Richard); six grandchildren, John (Rachel), Douglas (Christine), Ann Mae (Peter), Katie (Daniel), Patrick (Carrie), and Stacey (Richard); and nine great-grandchildren, Breanna, Liam, Olivia, Luke, Landon, Hunter, Graham, Madeleine, and Cameron. Ann was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1931 to Leonora (Acerbi) Jones and George Morgan Jones. She spent the first 26 years of her life there, graduating from Coughlin High School before earning her teaching degree from Trenton State Teachers College (now The College of New Jersey). On May 23, 1951, she married her soulmate, Edward Turner. After he completed college, they moved to Westampton, where they built their life and raised their family. She went on to devote 27 years to teaching second grade at Our Lady of Good Counsel, where she was cherished by generations of students and colleagues. Ann shared an extraordinary marriage with her beloved husband, Ed, lasting 66 years. They were true partners in life, devoted to one another in a way that was ahead of their time. After his passing in 2018, she carried his love with her every day, and her family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited again. Ann was a profoundly selfless woman whose life was defined by the care she gave to others. Her home was always open, a place of comfort and welcome, and she was known for her warmth, generosity, and steady, reassuring presence in the lives of those she loved. She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Family remained at the center of her life, and she created lasting traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations. Ann had many passions throughout her life. She was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, embracing her teams wholeheartedly in later years. She loved Disney, first taking her twins when it opened in 1975, and that trip began a lifelong tradition of family visits filled with joy and togetherness. She also found happiness in life’s quieter pleasures, including gardening, sewing, crocheting, and crossword puzzles, which she enjoyed regularly and completed with great pride. In keeping with Ann’s vibrant spirit and wishes, her family kindly asks that those attending her services wear pink or their favorite spring colors rather than traditional black. She would have loved to see a room full of color—Phillies, Eagles, or Disney attire is also warmly welcomed. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Marne Highway Hainesport. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hainesport. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
