Billie Jett

Billie Jett (72) resided in Southampton New Jersey departed this life on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Jefferson Hospital located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Billie Jett son of the late Irvine Green and Carola “Mitt” Jett, was born a fraternal twin to Bobby Jett in Sumter, South Carolina on February 21, 1948. Billie attended Sumter Public Schools until he moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1960. Billie would meet his former wife Rita Pearl Scott in the late 1960s and during this three-decade union (4) children were born. Billie worked tirelessly as an Aircraft Fueler at Newark International Airport for almost 20 years traveling back and forth to South Jersey where he relocated his family to Browns Mills. Billie better known as “Pop Pop” to everyone was adored, admired and respected by many. Billie would take the shirt off his back to provide for whomever he thought was in need. Billie was often flawlessly dressed with the infamous kangol hat and freshly creased pants. He would often say “I lived my life, now it’s your turn to live yours”. Billie was truly one of a kind and there will never be another. Billie’s legacy will forever live on through his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jett of Mt. Holly NJ, Lonnie Cody of Woodbridge NJ, Antoine Nelson Sr. of Maple Shade NJ, Jamar Henderson of Douglasville GA, Jeremiah Edwards of Sumter SC and Jarray Edwards of Sumter SC (Step-son). Grandchildren: William Jett Jr., Laquan Jett, Tariq Jett, Shane Jett, Antoine Jett, Staci Jett, Sharea Jett, Jashawn Wynn, Azariah Jones, Malikah Daniels, Brianna Lomax, Xiomara Jett Nelson, Dominique Byrne, Cory Jett Jr., Javon Jett, Dashawn Jett, Malakye McBride, Aubree Jett, Jaydin Jett, Ezra Campion, Billie Jett Jr., Dynazjah Adair-Nelson, Destiny Vega, Sierra Pica Nelson, Ailani Nelson, Antoine Nelson Jr., Jayden Henderson, Felicity Henderson, Jamar Henderson Jr., Ma’Ryanna Edwards, Jeremiah Edwards Jr. and Je’Miyah Edwards.
