Brenda J Holmes

Brenda Joyce Saucier Holmes, crossed over on January 6, 2015 at Virtua Voorhees Hospital surrounded by her loving family, she was just 65 years old. Brenda, Benny, or Blondie as she was lovingly called, was born in Lewiston, Maine on December 7, 1949, but was raised during her younger years in Portland Maine She moved to New Jersey as a young women and graduated from Northern Burlington County Regional High School and married the love of her life, Bobby Holmes in 1968. Brenda had a love for her friends, golf, nascar, and travel (especially to Florida and Hawaii). But close to her heart were her two sons and her three beautiful granddaughters. She also, loved being a member of the Mount Holly Elks Lodge, which she was currently serving as Chaplain. Brenda worked 28 years for the Township of Mount Laurel and raised two sons, Robert and Stephen Holmes. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Helen Saucier, and her beloved younger sister Sandra Lee Barry Saucier. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert E. Holmes, her two sons, Robert and Stephen Holmes, and Steve's three daughters, Molly, Hannah and Stephanie Holmes. Brenda is also, survived by her sisters Terri Summers of Newport News, Virginia and Cynthia-Leda Littlefield of Buxton, Maine. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her extended Holmes family her father-in-law Robert Holmes, sisters-in-laws Dawn Bevan and Cheryl Cochran, her brother-in-law Teddy Holmes and their families. She also leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles and aunts. Brenda fought a courageous 30 year fight against CREST Syndrome while never losing her love of life. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Virtua Voorhees Hospital for their expertise, compassion and support. Bob would also like to thank the many family members and friends who called and visited Brenda throughout offering their prayers and words of encouragement. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. An Elks Service will follow at 7 PM. A Celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. In Brenda's memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
