Dolores N. "Lore" Lamberg

Dolores “Lore” Lamberg, 85, of Jobstown and Wiley Christian Retirement Community, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Lore was born on Sept. 6, 1927, in Newark, NJ, daughter of Ingvald (Ted) and Rose Neilsen and raised in North Arlington. She married August (Art) Lamberg in 1950 and moved to Jobstown the following year. Lore spent most of her life as a dairy farmer's wife and beloved mother. Her exceptional ability to adapt and remain flexible served her well when handling the challenges of the farm and raising four children, including twins. Prior to marriage, Lore graduated from Washington School for Secretaries, Newark, and later was employed for thirty years by Pemberton Twp. Schools, retiring well past the usual age. She enjoyed her work, especially her co-workers, and approached all tasks with diligence and respectful attention to detail. She loved her church and church family. Lore was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hainesport, for 60 years, and believed in living her faith through serving others. She had a gentle and calming personality and relied on her deep inner strength as she cared for her family and many friends. During a recent extended hospital stay, she continued to send cards and notes to dear ones, always wanting to let them know that they were remembered and loved. Lore was preceded in death by Art, Sept. 30, 2012, daughter, June, Feb. 28, 2009, and sister Shirley Shinn, Sept. 9, 2012. Lore is survived by three children: Wayne (Jo Krasner), Karen (Ellis) Hilton, Jan Lamberg; and four grandaughters: Avery, Claire, Carys and Aarti. She is also survived by brother-in-law Bernard (Evelyn) Lamberg; 2 nephews: John (JoAnn) Lamberg and Paul (Barbara) Shinn. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 910 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036. Interment will follow in the St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
