Ethel Mae Fisher

Ethel Mae Fisher (Earley) peacefully passed away on September 21,2024 in Moorestown, NJ. Born at home in Browns Mills, NJ to John LeRoy and Anna Mae Earley, she graduated from Pemberton High School in 1958 where she met her forever partner Robert D. Fisher Sr. She asked him to dance at the high school Sadie Hawkins and he said yes! He passed away October 2023 soon after they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Bob and Ethel were well known for their love of dancing the jitterbug or slow dancing and never missed an opportunity to cut the rug! Ethel is survived by her two natural born children Michelle Lovenduski (Dean), and Robert Fisher Jr. (Joan), and another son Tom Daly (Joanne) who came into their lives later in life and has been as much a son as their own. The three of them gave her 10 grandchildren: Stacey Caltabiano, Douglas Fisher, Christine Marghilano, Scott Fisher, Sarah Kernan, Tommy Daly, Sean Daly, Colleen Daly, Jenna Filippoli, and Jessica Caberwal. 8 great-grandchildren: Juliana, Ryleigh, Angelina, Rosario, Cooper, Scottie, Brooks and Charlotte, and a great-great granddaughter Tabbitha. There are three remaining siblings of the original 7, her sister Shirley Stalnecker, and her brothers John Earley and Larry Earley. Over the years Ethel had a great many interests including homemaking, quilting, needlework, crafting, collecting, music, reading, altar guild and bridge. She belonged to St. Andrews Episcopal in Mt. Holly for years, and continued service with Unity Church first in Mt. Laurel NJ then in Naples Florida. The many clubs and groups she participated with both in NJ and Florida included the SJ Embroiderers Guild, SJ Bridge Club, Berry Basket Quilters, Pleiades, Naples Quilters Guild and the Lake Garrison Ladies Craft Group. She received recognitions and awards for her hand-stitched quilts and participated with various fund raisers including the Boy & Girl Scouts. While living in Randolph NJ she held a full-time position in Customer Service at Creative Computing Magazine in Morristown, NJ while continuing to volunteer with church and school functions. She later chose to continue her education and obtained an Associates in Science Degree from the Northern Virginia Community College. After the move to Naples Florida, Ethel continued enjoying life at theatre performances, water aerobics, luncheons with the Ladies of Lely, quilting, and hosting visitors from NJ. Ethel’s life was a tapestry of moments, both joyous and challenging. As her family we cherish the joy, the milestones, and the shared experiences that made life with her so rich.
