Grace Hannah Abrams

After a life of devotion to her family and the Lord, Grace Abrams passed away on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at the age of 93. The daughter of Harold and Rose Bozearth, Grace grew up on the family farm with her dear sister Bertha. When her mother became bedridden at a young age, Grace helped take care of her, a pattern of care for her family that she would follow throughout her life. One night at Clementon Park, a young farmer named John saw Grace wearing a red outfit that he would remember as long as he lived. He wound up taking her back to her house, and in the fullness of time they became husband and wife. Grace and John spent the next fifty-four years together, bound in the deepest bonds of love and mutual respect. Together they raised two sons, and operated their own farm. In the last years of his life, John's health began to fail him. As she had done for her family many times before, Grace was as caring and loving a caregiver to him as there could ever have been. Twelve years ago, they were parted by death. Now, they are together forever. The first thing that people would notice about Grace was how sweet she was, how she would never want to bother anyone. People that knew her well saw that her gentle heart was combined with incredible strength and determination, buttressed by her abiding faith. This was demonstrated not only with meeting the challenges of running a farm and raising a family, but with a series of health issues over the years through which she showed remarkable powers of recovery and resilience. She had a quiet, tender nature that belied a great sense of humor. She was a wonderful cook who brought comfort and happiness to every meal. She just had a way about her that made people feel better, which is what she always loved to do. In more ways than could ever be documented here, she really was our amazing Grace. In addition to her sister Bertha Allen, she is survived by her sons Harold (Dawn) and John, her grandchildren Douglas (Leigh), Jesse (Colleen), Jenny Satterwhite (Jerome), Tyler, Grace, Emily, Harold, Samuel, Donna, and Lillian, and her great-grandsons Isaac Satterwhite and Brayden. Grace's services are set for Tuesday, February 6th, 11 AM at the Indian Mills United Methodist Church, preceded by viewing between 10-11 AM. Interment will be at Junior Mechanics Cemetery in Tabernacle.
