Jane Mary Fisher

Jane Mary Fisher (72) of Chesterfield, passed away on August 23, 2024 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Daughter of Betty and the late Joseph Pownall III, Jane was born on July 4, 1952 in Trenton, NJ. Jane was raised in Yardville before purchasing her first home in Mercerville, finally settling and building her dream home in Chesterfield, NJ. Jane attended St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing in Trenton and worked as an OR nurse for over 43 years at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. In 1981, she married her beloved husband Bob and the two had 34 happy years together until Bob’s passing in 2015. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with her family, especially trips to the Bahamas. She also liked spending time in Lancaster, PA and day trips to the Seaside Boardwalk. She loved reading and cross stitch, and made her children and grandchildren beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments every year. Just like her personality, Jane loved glitter and anything that sparkled. Jane was devoted to her Christian faith and was a very active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Mount Holly, singing in the choir and a member of the Episcopal Church Woman (ECW.) Above all, she was very dedicated to her children and grandchildren. Known to her grandchildren as Nana, she was very active in their lives and enjoyed things like going to six flags, taking vacations and day trips with her family. She was a devoted daughter and went to dinner with her mother Betty and Aunt Joann Peate every Saturday. She was fiercely loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Rob Evers, her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Alyssa Fisher, her son and daughter-in-law David and Lisa Fisher, her grandchildren Madison Evers, Ellerie Fisher, Emiline Fisher, Evelyn Fisher, David Fisher, Noelle Fisher, and Carly Fisher, her mother Betty Pownall, her brothers Joseph Pownall IV and Mark Pownall, her cousin Caroline Costelloe, her aunt Joann Peate, her aunt Marlea Peate, her close friends Bill and Marie Bowers, Marianne and Bob Bowers, and Tom and Beth Marks, as well as her beloved cat Jack. Jane is predeceased by her husband Robert Fisher, her father Joseph Dickenson Pownall III, her uncles John and Norman Peate, and her dogs Murphy, Molly, Rowen, and Sheba. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her viewing on Friday August 30 from 6-8pm at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Funeral services for Jane will be held at 10:30am on Saturday August 31, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 121 High Street Mount Holly, NJ 08060. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s memory to Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, 1040 Yardville Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ 08620 or St. Andrews Episcopal Church at the address above.
