Jane C. Yerkes

A faithful and loving child of God, Jane C. Conover Tabone Pennypacker Yerkes passed away on April 24th at her home in Pemberton. Ultimately, her’s is a love story. She loved and was dearly loved. Jane lost three husbands, Anthony Tabone, James Pennypacker, and William Yerkes, plus her companion of 20 years, John Rinaldi. In her last years, She kindled a friendship with Bob Master and they continued her lifelong desire to live life to the fullest. A lifelong resident of Pemberton. She was the loving daughter of Raymond and Mildred Conover and grew up at the family home on Hanover Street with her three brothers, Lyman, Raymond, & Lynn, and with her sister Virginia. The family spent their summers in Conovertown, near to Absecon. She was graduate of Pemberton Boro High School, married at the age of nineteen, and became a widow at twenty. She worked as a secretary on Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base, for more than 30 years before retiring. A doer of good deeds, Jane touched many lives, buying groceries for those in need, volunteering and sharing what she had with others. Jane was a faithful member of the Pemberton United Methodist Church, a volunteer for Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, a member and trustee of the Van Kouwenhoven Conover Family Association, and a member of the Pemberton Rotary with her husband Bill. She will be remembered for her Love of Life, her Laughter, and her many Parties. She loved to throw pool parties, Fourth of July barbecues, host Christmas Eve dinners, and organize bus trips to Florida. Everyone was always welcome at Janes. She will also be fondly remembered for her talent in spinning stories. They were always entertaining, somewhat factual, but never dull. As she loved to dress up in fancy hats, she never revealed her real age. She is survived by her brother, Lynn Conover and his wife Susan, of Pemberton. By her son, Salvatore Tabone and his wife Mariko, of Mount Holly. By her grandsons, Keith Tabone of Mount Holly and Bryan Tabone and his wife Susan, of Downington Pa. And by two great grandsons, Anthony and Joshua Tabone of Downington, Pa. In addition, she was loved and will be missed by dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends and family are invited to Jane’s viewing on Friday, April 28 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Perinchief Funeral Home at 438 High St, Mount Holly, NJ. Memorial Service will follow at Pemberton United Methodist Church, 45 Hanover St in Pemberton, at 11:00am. Interment will be held at 2pm at the Mount Holly Cemetery, following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donation to the Pemberton Methodist Church Food Pantry.
