Jason G Dokovitch

Jason Glenn Dekovitch with his loving family and beloved friends at his side peacefully departed us on Sunday December 31, 2017 at the age of 46. He resided in Columbus, NJ. Jason was born November 8, 1971 in Trenton NJ; the son of John and Patricia Ann Dekovitch. In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his loving fiancé, Jean Marie Turkel; brothers Joel (Jackie), Shawn, and Jeff Dekovitch; nieces Jenna, Julia and Mary Kadien Dekovitch and; nephews Jarrid, Jon, Joshua, Blaine and Luke Dekovitch. Jason is a 1990 graduate of Northern Burlington County Regional Junior-Senior High school wherein he exceled as a standout athlete in the sports of Football and Track & Field; however predominantly as an accomplished Unlimited-Heavyweight Wrestler. Although Jason has “too many to list” athletic accolades to his credit; nevertheless noteworthy of recognition as it is still talked about to this day, Jason is most notoriously remembered for his larger than life witty and heartfelt personality. By all accounts a best-in-class socialite as the “BIG MAN” on campus. Upon graduation from high school, Jason possessed unwavering self-confidence and self-awareness as to the genuine person he was; yet even more so always welcoming or even intentionally seeking out an above & beyond challenge of both his mind and body; he decided to pursue the path of entrepreneurship as a true “hand-on” business owner specializing in services tailored to the customized autobody & fender industry. Upon mastering the craft specific to the autobody and fender trade and as a business owner, Jason decided to seek even greater challenges and prospected accomplishments by means of signing on as a Journeyman with UA Local 9 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union as he felt it was a means & method wherein his always continual above & beyond efforts and other type contributions would benefit many. Via a unique set of circumstances, Jason was offered what he referred to as the chance of a lifetime. An opportunity to be part of the Crisdel Group Inc. This would even further expand his efforts to benefit others. Ultimately Jason accepted employment as a Project Superintendent for the Crisdel Group Inc., a position he respectfully & graciously held till his passing. Throughout his life and by all walks of social classes of people that had come in contact with Jason, it became well known and recognized he was the “GO TO GUY”. A look you in the face I have no fear mentality, a hey I am just a solution seeking a problem to solve, a how can I help you in anyway, a what do you need me to do to make anything better, a I am here now and all is going to be A.O.K. take charge type of guy. Nonetheless most notably of his numerous admirably unwavering and exceptional personality attributes was his ability to maintain ones self-dignity no matter how great the challenge, even when he knew it would not end as anyone would hope. He proudly and constantly demonstrated this attitude every minute of every day for everything he did, but even furthermore displayed while in his heroic fight against an ultra-aggressive cancer. Jason had numerous passions, but his greatest passion of all was unconditionally sharing himself with others. Most self-gratifying was when unbeknownst to anyone, he would anonymously extend an act of goodwill to anyone he felt in need, even if a stranger knowing he would never receive any recognition for his selfless deeds. He incorporated an element of this caring into everything he did. Although Jason will be so deeply missed to hold, to talk too and to have on standby as the go to guy, he is by no means gone and is still alive & well with-in each of our hearts and souls as he will always be speaking to us and doing good deeds in ways we haven’t before experienced or imagined. “it is not how many breaths you take, it is how many breaths you take away” Relatives and friends are very much so encouraged to attend a luncheon celebration of life in honor of our beloved Jason to be held this Saturday, the 6th of January from 12-3 PM at the Chesterfield (Firehouse) Hose Co. #262 located at the address of 296 Chesterfield-Bordentown Rd., Chesterfield, NJ 08515.
