Louis Kinsler

Louis Kinsler, fondly known as “Lump” to family, was born March 22, 1933 in Marion County Florida. He transitioned on September 20, 2015. His parents, Monroe and Corean Stevenson Kinsler, his sisters Rosa Lee Whigham, Marian Coleman, Louise Warren, Christine Davis Felts, Emma Ford and brother, Pearstean Kinsler and Herman Kinsler, preceded him in death. Louis attended Marion County Public Schools where he graduated from Howard Academy in Ocala, Fl. Louis was a hard worker. During his high school career, Louis had serval jobs including being a bus mechanic for the local bus company is Ocala, Fl. After retiring from the military, he continued to work for an additional 28 years. In 1952, Louis joined the United States Army, shortly after he married his high school sweetheart, Lucinda Brown. Louis went on to serve his country honorably for 24 years. He retired as a First Sergeant. During his military service, Louis earned several military medals, including the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. In addition to serving stateside, Louis served overseas in Korea and Germany and two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. A soft-spoken person, Louis was a stickler for timeliness, tidiness, was extremely active and told many jokes. He enjoyed fishing, making dishes with catch, barbecuing with his own special recipe, reading, and watching football. Louis enjoyed growing vegetables and his favorite flowers, peonies and primroses. Louis was a Master Mason and a member of the Ft. Dix Chapel where he served as an usher. Louis is survived by his wife, Lucida (Brown Mills, NJ), children Brenda (Washington, DC) and Ronnie (Mount Holly, NJ), grandchildren Edward ( Washington, DC), Marisa ( Browns Mills, NJ) and Mariel Adams (Los Angeles, CA), sister, Frances McBride (Ocala, Fl), brother, Willie Kinsler (Summerfield, FL), sister-in-law, Lillian Kinsler (Pearstean), brother-in-law, Louis Warren (Louise) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM North Chapel McGuire, 3827 Schoolhouse Rd, McGuire AFB NJ. Internment will follow in BGWCD Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Friends may call on Friday from 10-11 AM at North Chapel McGuire at the address above
