Madeline M. Capelli

Madeline M. Capelli, nee Russo, a lifelong resident of Tabernacle, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on September 18, 2022. Born in Camden, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred Russo, Jr., Madeline was a graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School and was one of the founding family members of Russo’s Fruit and Vegetable Farm in Tabernacle where she worked at the farm stand and took pride in maintaining the business’ books. Madeline spent many years volunteering at the St. John of God School in Westville while she drove her son, Petey to school everyday . The wife of the late Peter (Sonny) Capelli and the sister of the late Anthony Russo III, she is survived by her three children: Peter “Petey” Capelli IV of Tabernacle ;Teresa “Terry” and her husband Jeff Antoniewicz of Southampton; and Matthew “Matt” Capelli and his wife Nicole of Shamong; 3 grandchildren: Jeffrey Antoniewicz and his wife Angela, Robert Antoniewicz and his fiancé Katelyn DeMalo, and her youngest grandson Connor Joseph Capelli; and her great-granddaughter Carmen Rose Antoniewicz. She is also survived by her sister Natalie Casano, her sister-in-law Maryann Russo, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Madeline enjoyed spending her days working at the family farm stand, greeting and waiting on the familiar faces that frequented the market. She cherished her daily phone calls with her sister and children. Her nights were often spent watching the New York Yankees with Petey. Her love of the farm was only exceeded by her love for her family. Madeline cherished the time she got to spend with her expansive family, during weekly family dinners, as well as the numerous family parties that marked her monthly calendar through the years. Madeline will be sadly missed by her family, but forever in our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 am at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd, Tabernacle, NJ 08088. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6-8pm and on Friday morning from 9am – 10am at the Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hainesport.
