Margaret M. Dennison

Margaret M. Dennison of Mount Holly passed away peacefully on July 15, 2012 after a long illness. She was 91. Margie was born in Mauch Chunk, Pa. on June 18, 1921, the daughter of Steven and Catherine Tenchia. She grew up in Allentown, Pa. She was educated through the Allentown School system and graduated from the Allentown Business College in 1941. She went to work for GE where she met and married the love of her life, Dale H. Dennison. They were married for 60 years. Because Dale was in the Air Force they moved several times in their early years, eventually ending up in Mount Holly where they stayed for 54 years. Margie became the executive secretary to the Superintendent of the Burlington County Vo-Tec School in Westhampton, NJ, a job she retired from in 1982. After retiring from the Vo-Tec School she began a new career as a librarian at the Mt. Holly Library where she worked until 2005. Margie was a long time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hainesport. She was an active volunteer for the Moorestown Horse Show and was a Friend of the Mt. Holly Library for many years. She loved to peruse cookbooks and was a wonderful cook. She took great pleasure in shopping at Strawbridge’s. Her greatest accomplishments though were dedicating her life to Dale and raising their three sons. She also loved to spend time with her six grandchildren. Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale, and by two of her sons, Glenn and Scott. She was the devoted mother to Alan D. Dennison (Cheryl) of Shamong, Lee S. Dennison (Lisa ) of Marllton, and daughter-in-law Patricia Hovell of Bellbrook, Ohio. She was the adored grandmother of Alan Dennison, Todd Dennison, Stephanie Dennison, Lauren Dennison, Stephen Dennison, and Sarah Dennison. She is also survived by her niece Kathy Yurcak and family of Poughkeepsie, NY and sister-in laws Florence Dennison of Zion Grove, PA, and Linda Wahl of Whittier, CA and their families. Relatives and friends may call between 9 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21st at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 910 Marne Hwy, Hainesport, NJ. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
