Margaret "Peg" Stinger

Margaret G. “Peg” Stinger of Mt. Laurel passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 31, 2011. She was 68. Born in 1942 in Annapolis, Maryland, she spent part of her life in New York and later moved to Burlington County. Peg was a secretary at the Burlington County Special Services School District where she was known as “Miss Peggy.” She had many loving co-workers she always considered to be “like family.” Peg enjoyed giving to the community by volunteering her services to organizations mostly concerning public safety and emergency medical response. She was a charter member of the Westampton Township Fire Department and Emergency Unit in 1978. She was certified as a Life Member of the Burlington County Fire Police in 1993. She was a member of the Lenola Emergency Unit in Moorestown Township in the 1980’s. She was also a CPR instructor. She was once Treasurer and longtime member of the Burlington County First Aid Council and continued to assist with publishing the Council directory for many years after. She was Past President of the Burlington County Fire Police Association, Past President of the New Jersey State Fire Police Association and Fire Police Instructor for the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center. She was also past Clerk for the Board of Directors of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs Association and most recently she volunteered for the American Red Cross Burlington County Chapter. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Lippincott of West Virginia; daughter Mary Newport of Ocean City, NJ; son William J. (Jennifer) Stinger of Mt. Holly; and son Daniel (Cynthia) Stinger of Cinnaminson along with several grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 PM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Please do not send flowers. Peg enjoyed giving to the community and would have like you to do the same.
