Pauline T. Worrell

Pauline T. Worrell of Moorestown, formerly of Willingboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was 84. Born in Hull, England, Pauline came over to the US to work as a nanny in the Boston area. It was there that she met her first husband, Stewart Evans, and became a military wife and mother of 4 children. After 15 wonderful years of marriage Stewart passed away of cancer in January 1978. She met and married the second love of her life, Frank Worrell a year and a half later and together they formed their blended family of 8, adding Frank’s 2 children to Pauline’s 4. Pauline started her work life as a Mental Health Nurse on the Isle of Jersey in the UK. After years as a fulltime mom, she finished her career as a bank teller in Riverside, NJ. She then volunteered at Samaritan Hospice for 15 years. A devout Catholic, Pauline was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Church where she also belonged to Women of Joy. Pauline and her husband Frank loved to travel internationally, making over 50 trips to places as exotic as Machu Picchu, Peru; 7 different locations on the African Continent; Vietnam and Laos; Japan, China, the Galapagos Islands, and Russia to name just a few. They made many friends on these trips, many of whom they stayed in touch with for decades after. Pauline is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank; 4 children: Becky McGill (Alan) of Somers Point, NJ; Shawn Evans (MaryLynne) of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; Michelle Evans-Chase (Bruckner) of Somers Point, NJ; and Stephanie Cain (Greg) of Fort Myers, FL; 2 step-children: Timothy Worrell (Mia) of Charleston, SC and Wendy Matchett (Curt) of Lancaster, PA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Alexis, Victoria, Ian, Chloe, Zachary, Madison, Ginger, Leah, Olivia, Vivienne, and Holden. She was predeceased by her beloved dog, Pixie. Pauline was a loving and extraordinary mother, and a devoted wife. She was always ready to assume the role of caregiver or counselor for friends and family. She was known for her fabulous fashion sense. Always ready to share a cup of tea or glass of wine, she gave people her full attention and made them feel seen and heard and special. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 1st at 10:30am at Corpus Christi Church, 11 South Sunset Rd., Willingboro. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am at the Church. Interment in BGWCD Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pauline’s memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice.
