Richard H Pancoast Sr

Richard “Dick” Pancoast, a lifelong resident of Mt. Holly, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 4, 1939 and was the son of the late Orville Pancoast, Sr. and the late Emma Pancoast. He was an avid golfer and achieved assistant pro status in 1959. Golf remained an important part of his life and he looked forward to playing with his brothers, friends, and especially his two sons. In 1966, he started his career with the Mt. Holly Water Company and retired as a foreman after 35 years of service. He cherished taking his family on day trips to all the different New Jersey beaches, strolling the boardwalk on a sunny day, and leisurely drives to Lancaster. He loved watching his grandkids playing sports and could always be heard from the bleachers cheering them on. He enjoyed the simple things in life and a good cigar. We will all miss his humor and his jokes, his charismatic way, and the loving spirit that made him such a wonderful man. Over the years, he developed many close friendships. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a true family man. Richard is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Marie (Konrad) Pancoast. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Lord and Catherine Hendrickson and his brothers Raymond Pancoast, Sr. and Robert Pancoast (Debbie). He is survived by his sister-in-law Delores Pancoast and his predeceased brother Orville Pancoast, Jr. Also, predeceased brother-in-law Ronnie Lord and predeceased sister-in-law Patricia Pancoast. He was survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard is survived by his four children, Richard Pancoast, Jr. (Nancy), Sandra Horn (Michael), Michael Pancoast (Jacquie), and Sherri Howlett. His seven grandchildren: Marisa, Nicholas, Ryan, Cynda, Margaret, Henry, and Samuel. Relatives and friends may attend his viewing on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mt. Holly, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A zoom link is available.
