Russell B. Losse

Russ, age 65 years died on April 27,2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton, NJ as a result of complications from COVID -19. Russ was born September 1954 In Mount Holly, NJ, the son of David and Bernice Losse. He attended Florence L Walther School in Lumberton. He graduated from RVRHS - Class of 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents David (1990) and Bernice (2003) and his brother Maurice (in 1983). He married Kathleen Anthony in 1983. They were married 37 years. Together, they raised 5 children- William Greenawalt, Sonya Godor, Jessica Huttenlock (Scott), Matthew Losse (LaTisha) and Jeremy Losse. His is survived by his siblings: Robert (Charlene), William, Catherine, George (Joanne). He is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan Greenawalt, Nolan Herens, Erika Herons, Sarah Godor, Audrey, Quinn and Liam Losse, Alex Huttenlock. Also survived by his Nieces and Nephews- Kaitlyn and Sarah Losse, Robert Jr, David and Christopher. His greatest joy was being a stay at home Dad and watching his children grow. He welcomed three of his children home, after they served our country in the Military. He held various positions in several area businesses until becoming disabled in 1994. He was told he needed a heart transplant then which he refused to consider. He did not ever have a heart transplant himself but helped care for his wife when she had her heart transplant in 2017. He liked to say he was not a pet person. His Boston terriers Bert and Ernie know better as he loved them dearly. Russ was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan especially the Philadelphia Phillies. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren the same love of the game that he had. He also enjoyed gardening and finding new plants for his garden and yard. His gardens gave him peace and his wife loved to cook meals with the fresh fruits and veggies from his garden. His greatest passion was his model trains. He would spend hours painting such tiny pieces of décor and people to create detailed towns. He put a lot of time and hard work into his models and loved to pass this love of them to his grandchildren. He was the family member that would help others to get to their appts. He was a great father, son, uncle and brother. He volunteered to coach his son’s hockey teams in Browns Mills. He could be found attending sporting events for any of the kids in the family. He took the time to listen to them as they tried to figure life out one day at a time. Russ took great pride in all of his children’s accomplishments, college graduations, walking his daughter down the aisle in her wedding and Military graduations. We will miss his sense of humor and what he shared with us all. Due to the current Corona Virus Pandemic seevices have been postponed and will occur at a later date.
