Ruth Ann Wilkes Liss

Ruth Ann Wilkes Liss, of Mount Holly, NJ born on February 19, 1930, passed away suddenly at home on Monday April 7, 2014 at the age of 75. Born at home at 140 Central Ave., Caldwell, NJ, she was a 1957 Grover Cleveland High School Graduate in Caldwell. After her graduation, she went on to work at Federal Tool in Verona, NJ as a packer. Ruth married her late husband John V.K. Liss on April 20, 1968. They settled together in Butler, NJ. She became a mother on Nov. 30, 1970 to her surviving sons Charles W.B. Liss and John J.A. Liss. The family moved to Mt. Holly in Oct. of 1971 where she was a life-time resident. Ruth was also predeceased by two brothers: Charles Wilkes and his wife Margaret Wilkes and Joe Wilkes; and also pre-deceased by her brother-in-law David Liss and his wife Marie Liss. She is also survived by her granddaughter Taylor Cheyenne Liss of Arlington, TX, two sisters-in-law: Anne Liss of Columbia, SC and Carol Wilkes of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, she was an aunt to Steven D. Liss, Laura Liss, Joseph F. Wilkes, Patricia Sannazaro; great aunt to Samantha Sannazaro, Amanda Liss, and Daniele Liss. She was a member of the Vincentown United Methodist Church. Our mother will be missed immensely by her surviving family and friends whom God and Jesus Christ our Lord has blessed in so many ways. She shall be remembered by those she has given sound advice to and has touched. She accepted all that came into her life. She was blessed, always overjoyed and touched deeply in her heart by those whom have called her Mom. True in her heart to accept those whom she accepted as her own. She was a true Phillies and Eagles fan who never held back if they were playing poorly. She loved the Jersey shore and salt-water taffy. Mom, it was and still is hard for all of us to let you go. May it be known to you that we will always be thankful in our hearts and minds. Thankful that you were chosen by our Lord to be our mother. Thankful for the upbringing we were given as we grew together. As much as our hearts ache with your departure, we love you deeply enough in our hearts, body, and soul, to unselfishly surrender you to our heavenly Father. We put all of our faith in Him that He will be by your side in Heaven as well on our side through our grief. We accept that it was your time to go to Heaven. May our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, be with you until we meet again in Heaven when the Lord says our chores are through. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Vincentown United Methodist Church, 97 Main St., Vincentown. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10-11 AM at the Church. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, NJ.
