Theresa Chrostowski

Theresa Prendergast Chrostowski, of Mount Holly, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Virtua Memorial Hospital Mount Holly, with her beloved daughter Mary and beloved sister Joan at her side. Tess was born in Ardwick Manchester England, on January 20, 1934, the oldest daughter of Leo and Mary Wilde Prendergast. She grew up in Clayton Manchester England, and was a graduate of Saint Willibrord’s Roman Catholic Primary school and attended St. Loreto College. She was married to Bernard J. Chrostowski in New York City in 1956 and they lived in San Rafael California, Marblehead Massachusetts, Largo Florida, and finally New Jersey to be near her sisters Veronica and Joan and their families. Her youngest brother Andrew also came to live with her in New Jersey. Tess spent many years working for McFadden’s and the Flying W with her dear friends Harriet Schoenhut and Mary Mucciarelli. She spent her retirement years helping to raise her grandchildren and more recently she had many happy visits with her great grandsons. Her family was her pride and joy. She will be sadly missed by all. Tess is survived by her daughter Mary Kenny, her grandchildren James Patrick Kenny (Laura Giadney), Brian David Kenny (Meg Markey), Michael Tyler Kenny, and Victoria Theresa Kenny. She is also survived by her great grandsons Oliver Bernard Kenny, Declan William Kenny, and Raymond James Kenny. She is also survived her dear sister Joan Buckley and brother Leo Prendergast and her oldest friend Betty Garrett Singleton, along with her many nieces and nephews here and in the U.K. Tess is predeceased by her husband Bernard John Chrostowski, her brothers Frank (Edna), Terrance, Andrew (Beverley), and her sister Veronica and brother-in-law Richard Klein. Funeral services for Tess will be held on Monday May 8th at 12pm, at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her viewing at Perinchief Chapels from 10am-12pm prior to the start of her services. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be held privately at a later date.
