Everett Mitchel Turner, Sr. of Mount Holly, passed away on April 14, 2022. He was 96 years old. Son of the late Samuel A. and Helen M. Turner, Everett was born June 24, 1925, in Mount Holly where he was a resident his entire life. He was affectionately known as Ev to many friends. Everett served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aerial and ground photographer stationed in Guam. After his military service Ev returned to Mount Holly. He opened the Mount Holly Camera Center on High Street in 1953 where he was the owner and operator for 42 years. Ev was very passionate about photography and was known for the many beautiful photos and photo books he created of Mount Holly, various train stations in Burlington and Camden County and many for family and friends. He also enjoyed building extensive train platforms in his home with his wife Barbara, a passion that he shared with his children. He also enjoyed trap shooting in his younger years with his sons. Ev enjoyed going on long walks daily with his wife Barbara for over 60 years. They would be seen walking down Madison Avenue hand in hand. He will be deeply missed by all. Everett is predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Roberts Turner of 74 years, his son James Michael Turner (Jane), and his parents Samuel A. and Helen M. Turner. Everett is survived by his son Everett M. Turner, Jr. and his wife Essi, his son Bruce Turner and his wife Beth, his grandchildren Jackelyn L. (William) Schwanda, Brian R. (Jessica) Turner, and Brad E. Turner, his great grandchildren Hayden, Thea, Noah, and Kinsley, his daughter in law Jane Turner, and his brother Samuel Turner. A memorial service for Everett will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022 at 11am at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 10am to 11am at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment and military honors will follow the service at the Mount Holly Baptist Cemetery, Pine Street, Mount Holly.
