Florence Conte

December 3, 1929 - March 21, 2022

Florence Conte, of Vincentown, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Brightview in Mt. Laurel. She was 92. Florence was born in Medford; the daughter of the late Benjamin and Clotilda Conte. She is survived by her nieces and nephew: Florence Seiler and her daughter Adina (Michael) and Constance (Len) Gereffi and their sons, Robby, Clay, and Tommy (Serena); Bill Conte and daughter Katie. Great great Aunt to Hannah William, and Oliver. Family friend, Jen Muir. She was the sister of the late: John, Filippa, Benjamin, William Conte, and Stella Conte Makin. Also, Aunt to the late Tony Conte (Valerie). Florence grew up on Plum St. in Vincentown where she spent most of her life before moving to Leisuretowne. She worked for Stokes Cannery for many years. Florence was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Vincentown, she started attending as a teenager participating in the youth group. She had been a member of the choir, was a deaconess, a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, Nursery Duty during church services, and ministered through crocheting pretty edges on baby blankets for the ladies ministries, among many other activities. Florence’s greatest joy was her family. She was a big part of her nieces and nephews lives, along with her great-nieces and great-nephews. Always willing to play, go for walks and dole out big hugs and kisses. She enjoyed her trips to Florida to be with her niece, Florence was a warm weather girl! She loved crocheting for her family, we all have blankets, even her niece’s dogs have their own made with love for them. She had moved to Brightview Assisted Living and it didn’t take her long to make many new friends, her caregivers loved her spirit and easy-going style. She walked outside around the campus every day and even got a few friends to join her, some that hadn’t done much exercise in a while. Florence will be dearly missed by so many, but we are rest assured that she is in the arms of Jesus, with a whole and perfect body. John 14:1-3. Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. Relatives and friends may attend her visitation on Monday, March 28th from 10-11 AM at The First Baptist Church, 39 Main St., Vincentown. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the Medford Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Florence’s memory to The First Baptist Church.
