Gisela B. Harrell

Gisela Bauer Harrell was born on May 1, 1943 in Trostberg, Germany to the late Franz and Johanna Bauer. She departed from this life on June 1, 2017 in Mount Holly, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband David Lee Harrell. As a child, Gisela received her education in the Catholic school system in Trostberg, Germany. After graduating, she worked in Munich, Germany. She later moved to Neu Ulm, Germany where she met and fell in love with David Harrell. Gisela returned to the United States with David where they were married in Washington, DC on July 11, 1964. From this marriage, one child was born, David L. Harrell, Jr. Gisela worked for Rancocas Valley Regional High School for over 27 years. She retired in 1999 as manager of the school cafeteria. She started in an entry level position as a cook and was promoted throughout the years, obtaining the management position from which she retired. She was a dedicated worker who loved her job. She befriended many people at work and maintained those friendships long after retirement. Gisela loved her family and enjoyed preparing meals for them. She kept plenty of snacks in her home for all of her family. She loved taking long walks throughout her neighborhood. In her earlier years, she would be seen walking with her grandchildren. Gisela was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Mount Holly. Her faith was a source of strength in her life. Gisela leaves to mourn her son, David L. Harrell, Jr; daughter-in-law Angela Harrell; grandchildren David T. Harrell, Lauren Harrell and Danielle Harrell; sisters Sofie Williams, Hildegard Dandl (Robert); brothers Alois Bauer (Crystal), and Franz Bauer (Elli); nieces Ramona Dehoff (Cliff), Sabine Ostkamper (Thorsten), Roswitha Paul, Elke Bauer, Julia Tolbert, Genetta White, Vanessa Harrell and Constance Harrell; nephews Sebastian Dandl and Vincent Harrell and a host of other family and friends in Germany and the United States. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, Mount Holly. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the Church.
