Paul A. Eagan Jr
February 18, 1949 - March 30, 2022
Paul A. Eagan, Jr. of Lumberton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at home. He was 73. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Paul was a longtime Lumberton resident. He had worked in sales for many years and met a friend wherever he went. He loved many things including caring for any homeless animal that crossed his path, spending time with his family, ridiculous “dad jokes,” and his truck (Big Red). He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He treasured any time spent with family and ensured that everyone knew how important they were to him. If you knew Paul, then you knew of his inherent ability to make everyone around him laugh. His incredible sense of humor was something that will always be with us and make us smile. Paul was truly a selfless, genuine man who would quite literally “give you the shirt off his back.” He never missed an opportunity to help a stray animal gain a couple of extra pounds. He took this job very seriously and would often claim that his plump cats were “saving up for winter” with their extra layers. If you were ever in a jam, he was the person to call. He would offer his help to anyone, as long as you were okay with a duct tape or bungee cord repair. We will never be able to convey just how much he meant to us, and we are truly the lucky ones to have had him in our lives. Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy Eagan, two daughters, Amy Stellwag and Melissa Basham, his son-in-law, Chad Basham, his grandchildren, Nicholas Vera, Braelyn Basham, Reid Basham, his brother, Bruce Eagan, his two sisters, Sharon Brooksher, Barbara Smith, and countless family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 8th at 8pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Relatives and Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 6-8pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, c/o Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter 3111 Route 38, Suite 11 #238 Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054 or https://friendsofbcas.org/ Arrangements by the Perinchief Chapels, Mount Holly.
