Richard A. Van Sciver of Willingboro, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mount Holly. He was 87. Born in Beverly, the son of the late Walter and Rose Mary Van Sciver, Mr. Van Sciver was a lifelong Burlington County resident. He was a graduate of Burlington City High School and was a US Marine Corps Veteran who served during Korea. He earned his Master’s Degree from Glassboro State College and served 31 years in the Willingboro Police Department, retiring as Chief of Police. Mr. Van Sciver was also a member of the Willingboro FOP, the Marine Corp League, and the VFW. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The husband of 59 years to the late Eleanor, he is survived by 4 children and their spouses: Mark (Suzanne) Van Sciver of Quinton, NJ, Steven (Susan) Van Sciver of Westampton, Debra (Kurt) Stokley of Mount Holly, and Brian (Sharonann) Van Sciver of Bensalem, PA; 7 grandchildren: Kyle (Anneka), Andrew (Stephanie), Jillian, Nick, Joel, Nicole (Derek), & Erik; and 4 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Thomas Van Sciver and Rose M. Roser, and is also survived by a sister-in-law Donna Van Sciver. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 7th at 2pm at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday from 1-2pm at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
