Robert Edwin Moore Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Edwin Moore, announces his passing after the New Year. He died peacefully in his sleep in his home in Pittsburgh PA, at the age of 75. Robert worked at Mellon Bank in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, he was a loving son, brother and fan of his nephews and nieces. He was born on November 14, 1946 in Philadelphia PA to Cheston J Moore II and Charlotte Ruth Moore. He graduated from Rutgers University 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. In 1966, he entered in the US Army. He quickly excelled musically and was offered the opportunity to play with the 433rd Army Band. He brought morale and comfort to fellow soldiers, other servicemen and women. Robert was a dedicated Philadelphia Mummer in the 1960s, he played with several string bands Aqua, Woodland and Duffy, where he proudly marched up Broad Street. In the 80s and 90s, he was a enthusiastic singer for his local Pittsburg American Legion Post’s Karaoke events where he formed many long lasting friendships. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Cheston J Moore II and Charlotte Ruth Moore and his sister Susan Moore. Also by his beloved 4 legged companion, Cocoa Lady. Robert is survived by his sister, Kathleen Mucha (Paul) and his brother, Cheston J. Moore III Robert will be fondly remembered by his four nephews; Peter Mucha of MD, Andrew Mucha of NJ, Matthew Moore (Jenny) of OH, Thomas Moore of VA and two nieces; Cassandra Paetow of ME and Colleen Herrera (LD) of SD. Also remembered by his grand-nephews, Joshua Moore, Duncan Paetow, Quinton Herrera, Dominic Herrera, and Thomas Ray; grand-nieces, Carolanne Moore, Sabrina Paetow, and Josie Herrera; great nephews, Lucas Moore and Thomas and Cullen Ray. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, January 18 from 11-12 PM at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM at the funeral home. Interment and military honors will follow at Mount Holly Cemetery. Zoom services will also be provided. Memorial contributions can be made in Robert’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
