William R. Steen

William R. Steen of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Deptford and Pemberton, NJ died peacefully on February 5, 2022 at the age of 84. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Linda (Merritt) Steen, his beloved son, Jeffrey Steen and wife Julie, his cherished granddaughter Sofia, his loving sister Patty Cutts (Charlie) and sisters-in-law Joan Steen and Lois Schleuss. Along with their wives and husbands, he was the uncle of Keith, Greg, Kimberly, George, Jim, Michelle, Scott, Wendi, Chuck and many great and great great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Kathryn Steen, stepmother, Gladys Steen, brother, Jim Steen and nephews Charlie Cutts, Jr. and David Martino. Bill was a veteran of the Air National Guard stationed at Maguire AFB, NJ. He was activated for the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and sent to Chamont, France for a year. He was a long time employee of Boeing Helicopters in Ridley Park, PA, where he worked for 37 years as a spares analyst on the Railcar, Chinook and V-22 Programs. He was a talented artist in his younger years and left behind many beautiful oil paintings. He loved old cars, golf, reading and especially telling stories.
