Amanda M. Hobert

Amanda passed away after over a year of extraordinary courage, resilience and determination on June 22, 2026, at Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was surrounded by the people who loved her most. By her side were her beloved "Honey Bunny," John Mosca, her devoted mother, Sharon Hobert, and several cherished friends. Known to so many as "Hobie," Amanda had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and welcomed. She had a heart as big as her smile and a personality that could light up any room. Whether you had known her for years or had just met her, Amanda made everyone feel like family. She lived life to the fullest, filling every room with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Amanda was a proud 2003 graduate of Pemberton Township High School. She continued her education at Monmouth University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She began her professional career with Nordstrom in Loss Prevention before continuing on to positions with Toys "R" Us and Lowe's. Through her dedication, hard work, and leadership, Amanda built an impressive career that culminated in her role as Regional Manager with the LVMH Group, supporting Sephora. Amanda was president of METRORCA, an organization that forged a bond between retailers and law enforcement to combat organized retail crime. She and her team won the Outstanding Loss Prevention Investigation of the year for the Coalition of Retail and Law Enforcement. She was respected by her colleagues, valued as a leader, and took great pride in helping others succeed. Outside of work, Amanda embraced every opportunity to enjoy life. She loved relaxing at the beach, traveling to new places, sharing a good bottle of wine with family and friends, and hosting gatherings where everyone felt welcome. Predeceased by her loving father, John Hobert, Amanda is survived by the love of her life, John Mosca; her mother, Sharon Hobert; Harry Hobert; Carol Shorman; and Harry and Valerie Moppert. She also leaves behind her cherished cousins, Chris Hobert, Will Shorman, Allie Corabi, Harry Moppert Jr., Doug Moppert, Morgan Moppert. Also, Victoria Dively. She treasured every moment spent with them, and some of her happiest memories were made simply being together, laughing, celebrating, and creating lifelong memories. Amanda was also blessed with an extraordinary circle of loyal, lifelong friends whom she loved dearly. She built deep and lasting friendships, and her kindness, generosity, and ability to bring people together created a family far beyond blood. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth, humor, and unconditional love. Amanda's love for animals, especially cats, was unmistakable. She truly never met a cat she didn't love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, New Jersey, in Amanda's memory, so her compassion for animals can continue to make a difference.
