Clara C. Bielecki

Clara C. Bielecki of Mt. Holly passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Medford Care Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Walter and Amelia (Bienkowska) Bielecki, she was predeceased by her brother Henry and her sister Laura. She is survived by her niece Barbara Hilinski of Palm Bay, FL and two close friends, Catherine Adjan and Elaine Hollowell, both of Mt. Holly, NJ, who were like daughters to her. Clara grew up in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. She attended Catholic school and took piano lessons which were her joy. After graduating from Frankford High School in 1945, she took an office position at Pennwalt Corporation and worked there even after moving to Delran, NJ with her family. For 43 years, she would take the bus and later her Volkswagen Beetle into Philadelphia to work. After retirement she remained in Delran in the family home for many years. Clara loved books and always enjoyed visiting local libraries, especially when there was a book sale. She would pour over the treasures that she would find—books on music, or cooking (she loved to read recipes but not necessarily to cook), religion and astrology and many other topics of interest. She was frugal and could pinch a penny, a true coupon collector. If you knew Clara well, you knew that her favorite treats were chocolate, ice cream and pudding all purchased with coupons! Clara moved to Mt. Holly in 2011, enjoying the change from a big, old house to a sweet little apartment. She soon made new friends enjoying concerts, shopping and library trips with them while staying in touch with close friends from the past. As the years went by folks visited her and would often find her in her recliner enjoying old Hollywood movies or Andy of Mayberry reruns. She also enjoyed listening to hymns and classical music or radio shows early in the morning. Clara loved cats (and sometimes dogs) and had much fun being entertained by the neighborhood's feral cat colony especially by Atticus, her favorite furry friend. Clara will be missed by many. Her warm smile and listening ear as well as her love of the arts and a good laugh endeared her to people. The angels in heaven are smiling. Come celebrate 98 great years on Friday, April 11 at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM. Sharing memories will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:30 AM. Lunch will follow at Deerwood Country Club for all who attend. Interment to be held privately at St. Peter's Cemetery, Riverside, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in Clara's memory to the Hissy Hut at 84 Mill Street, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060.
