Florence M. Taylor

Florence M. Taylor (nee Bereznak), age 94, of Mount Holly, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. Florence was born in New York City on January 7, 1920, the first of four children born to European immigrants Joseph & Josephine (Stryhafka) Bereznak. She was raised on the 127-acre family farm on the Monmouth Road in Sykesville, NJ. The farm had dairy cows and the best Jersey tomatoes around. She graduated from Pemberton Township High School. After graduation she married Robert Taylor and they relocated to Garden Street in Mount Holly, NJ. After moving from this location in the early 1960’s to her present home, she continued to use her former residence as a rental home with usually renting to service men and their wives stationed at Fort Dix and McGuire AFB. This is where she met and had still remained close friends with all her renters but there was one very special lifetime friend Marie of Winchester VA. They were friends for over 70 years. Along with her rental property she (as the bookkeeper) and her then husband Bob owned and operated LJ Taylor & Son Fencing Company in Buddtown, NJ, which they ran until retiring. She enjoyed singing and joined the Cinnaminson Community Chorus. She was a member for 35+ years attending her last concert in 2012 at 92 years old. Belonging to the chorus was one of her treasures where she met many close friends – Marilyn and Elaine are two very dear to her heart, as are so many others in the chorus – each playing a different part in her life. She loved gardening, keeping her own landscaping manicured, reading many books and magazines, ballroom dancing, and decorating for all the holidays and seasons. She treasured every gift given to her and loved collecting things from places she had traveled. She had a limitless memory for people, places and things. She cherished going to Cracker Barrel for dinner with her nephew John every week. She was predeceased by her mother Josephine (1950), father Joseph (1941), brother George (2009) and brother Joseph (1943). Florence is survived by her youngest brother John, Sr. and his wife, Beth of Richwood, WV, her very special and devoted nephew John, Jr. of New Egypt NJ, her very special and dedicated niece Jill Hinchman and her husband Sam of Merrill, ME, her loving nephew Joseph and his wife Priscilla of Craigsville, WV and her special nephew Paul and his wife Pam with children Christopher and Nicole of Missouri City, TX, her nephew George Jr. of Wrightstown and niece Theresa of TX. She has step nieces and nephews and their children – Daniel and his wife Holly of Jobstown NJ, Sarah and her husband Christopher, Garry and his wife Sis, Harvey, Jackie and his wife Jessie, Jameison and his wife Kista all of Richwood WV, and her very exceptional neighbors Tom & June and their children and grandchildren. She also has many other extended friends and family members that have been special to her throughout her life. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Monday at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly with Rev. Herbert Heins officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
