Gloria Marie Reagoso

Gloria Marie Reagoso (Nilan), formerly of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Born in West Philadelphia and raised in the suburbs, she graduated from Marple-Newtown High School in 1949. Gloria joined the Air Force during the Korean Conflict rising to the rank of staff sergeant. She met and married her beloved husband, Joseph, and they were blessed with five children. They had fifty-four wonderful years together and lived many places during Joe’s twenty-five years in the Army. Gloria spent fifteen years as an adult Girl Scout leader seeing her girls through Brownies into Cadets. She also spent a term on the Board of Directors of the Burlington County Girl Scout Council. Gloria loved her Lord and was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hainesport. She sang in the choir, served as a lector and a communion assistant and was a member of both the Altar Guild and the Worship and Music Committee for many years. She also served a term on Church Council and taught Vacation Bible School. In her later years she spent many hours helping to crochet blankets given to babies at their baptisms. In August of 1995 Gloria and Joe moved from Medford to Leisuretowne where they became active in the Ballroom Dance Club. Gloria also sang with the Leisuretowne Singers and Harmonizers, drove for TOUCH and was Membership Vice-President of the Southampton Chapter of Deborah Foundation for many years. She also belonged to the Medford Chapter before moving to Leisuretowne. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Buddy, her grandson Brian Lovenduski, her sister Jo Ann Sammons and her sisters-in-law Phyllis O’Donnell and Phyllis Nilan. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law Beth & Michael Latyn of Mount Laurel, Gloria & Steve Janssen of Marlton, Ginger French of Fairfield, PA, and Allison & Scott Vassallo of Shamong, as well as, her brothers Frank & Danny Nilan, her sisters Linda Nilan & Susan Handal, her brother-in-law, Bobby Sammons, and many treasured nieces and nephews. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 910 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036 on March 30th at 11am with visitation at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to St. Paul’s at the above address or to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, PO Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
