Joseph J Voelmle

Joseph James Voelmle passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the age of 82 years. Joe resided in Edgewater Pk., NJ for 53 years. Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 30, 1935. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering from LaSalle University. Joe enjoyed an engineering career that lasted over 40 years. He retired from Pilling Industries in Fort Washington, PA. Joe also served in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Saint Joseph Church of Beverly NJ where he was a cantor and eucharistic minister. Joe’s many hobbies included, cooking, gardening, fishing and crabbing. Many summers were spent loading his family into a car and camping in a pop up camper. Joe is also known for his great sense of humor. Perhaps what Joe will be most remembered for in addition to being a loving and devoted husband and father, was his profound love for Frank Sinatra and the Philadelphia Eagles. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 56 years, Kathleen and his children, Joseph (Carmen) Voelmle of Fort Myers, FL, Michelle (Vince) Zoppina of Burlington Twp., NJ, Kathy (Steve) Hazzard of Mantua, NJ, Mary (Joe) Cannon of Harleysville, PA, and Christine (Jason) Scheuren of Haddon Twp., NJ. Joe will also be fondly remembered by his eleven grandchildren, Stephanie, Alexandra, Rachel, Craig, Arielle, Devin, Michael, Matthew, Hailey, Anna and Jason, by his brother, Jack (Ann) Voelmle, as well as many nephews and nieces. Joe was preceded in death by his father Albert Voelmle and his mother Mary Voelmle, his brother Albert Voelmle and his son Stephen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation and funeral services on Thursday, June 22nd beginning at 8:30am-10:15 am at Saint Joseph’s Church 524 Warren St., Beverly, NJ. followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 am. Burial with military honors will follow in BGWCD Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
