K. David Watt

Kim David Watt, age 56, of Naples, FL and Port Richey, FL left this earth on Friday, December 10, 2010. Beloved son of Beryl D (nee Berkowitz) Watt of New Port Richey, FL; and father of Bryan Douglas Watt of Riverside, NJ and Leslie Catherine (Peter J.) Dombrowski of Port Richey, FL; Grandfather of Peter J. Dombrowski, Jr; He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Robynn L. (Michael) O’Rourke of Sicklerville; Patrice R. (Robert Foussadier) Watt of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; Brett M. Watt of Naples, FL; and Anthony R. (Kristin) Caine of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his former spouse Kathy A. Watt of Riverside and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond W. (Ray Caine) Watt, and his brother Dean A. Watt. David (as he liked to be called) was born in Mt. Holly and graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in 1972. He worked in the family business, the former Checker Stores in Mt. Holly and attended Burlington County College. He graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1979 and joined with several major funeral corporations in NJ. He moved to Florida in 1990 to help his brother manage a restaurant and hotel but returned to funeral service working for Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel in Naples, FL where he worked as Operations Manager. David returned to New Jersey in 1997 and worked for several independent funeral homes and then for Stewart Enterprises as an advance funeral planning specialist. In May of 2003, David retired from funeral service and returned to Naples, FL. He was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Holly and was a Eucharistic Minister and communicant at both St. Peter the Apostle and St. Ann Catholic Church in Naples, FL and was a member in the Third degree of the Knights of Columbus #4337. David was a former member of the NJ State Funeral Directors Association, the Florida Funeral Directors Association. At one time he was an avid snow skier, hiker, swimmer, and bowler. Relatives and friends are invited to attend David’s funeral service on Wednesday, at 11:30 AM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
