Keith Furgus

Keith was born in Trinidad and Tobago the eldest son of Jack and Blanche Furgus, brother of Valerie, Kayrene, Kurt and Leslie. In his early teens Keith began his trade in Lithography on the printing press. He was also a pan man in the steel pan band Casablanca until he settled down, and married Jemma Watson and started a family. Keith immigrated to New York, USA, in the mid seventies and later moved to New Jersey, where he worked and raised his family. In 2001 he moved to sunny Florida, where he lived and worked until he retired in Fort Lauderdale. Keith enjoyed swimming at the beach, fishing and crabbing, watching football cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers ! Keith loved to travel within the Caribbean exploring the food and cultures of many islands. He also enjoyed road-trips all across the US and Canada with family and friends. Keith enjoyed all types of music but always loved his native Soca and Calypso. He enjoyed dancing and liming with friends ! In his later years Keith returned to New Jersey to be cared for by his children and passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters and loved ones. Memories of Keith will be forever be cherished by his family. Keith leaves us to reunite with his mother and father Blanche and Jack, his sister Valerie and nephew Kerwyn. Keith leaves behind his children Jennie, Gizelle, Jonnele and Kirlon. Grandchildren Jaedyn, Kaelyn, Noelle, Riley, Angel and Madison. His Sister, Kayrene and brothers Kurt and Leslie. Brother in law Roland Farrell, Son in law, Mike Bird, Nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Andre, Nigel and Khristen and many great nephews and nieces and cousins. Funeral services for Keith will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 7pm at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Keith’s family from 6pm-7pm prior to the start of the services at Perinchief Chapels. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations and gifts may be made in Keith’s memory to Samaritan Hospice, either online at www.samaritannj.org or mailed to Samaritan's Gift Processing Center - P.O.
