William J. Mansfield Sr.

William J. Mansfield, Sr., passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was the son of Wm. Roy and Marie F. (McMahon) Mansfield. He was predeceased by his dearest wife of 66 years, Katherine Donohoe Mansfield, and his brother, Robert F. Mansfield. He is survived by his children, William J. Jr., (Beth), Mary K., Brian P. (Gerrie), and Karen A.; grandchildren Matthew (Chanel), Kevin (Marissa), Scott, Megan, and Sean; and great-grandchildren, Derek, Emmett, Lyra, and Lily; his dear sister, Rita McLean; his cherished dog, Joy; as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins. William (Bill) proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a dedicated educator and coach whose career spanned multiple school districts in New Jersey. He was a math and science teacher and football coach in the Southern Regional, Northern Burlington, and Willingboro Township School Districts. He later continued his impactful work in education as a guidance counselor and night school principal in Willingboro Township. Beyond his professional roles, Bill was a proud youth football coach for the Willingboro Interpark Youth Football Program in Pennypacker Park, where he mentored and inspired countless young athletes. In his retirement, Bill found great joy in traveling with his beloved wife, Katherine. He also enjoyed saltwater fishing, photography, painting, woodworking, and collecting coins and stamps. His many hobbies reflected his curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for nature and craftsmanship. Bill will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to education, his love for family and community, and the many passions that enriched the lives of those around him. Relatives and friends may attend his visitation on Monday, April 14th from 5-7 pm at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mt. Holly, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15th, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 260 High Street, Mt. Holly, NJ. Interment at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ. In place of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
